Twin Cities
The Twin Cities is noted for its array of intriguing theater, fine orchestras, art museums and a sculpture garden. There’s always a full calendar of visiting performers and Broadway touring shows. Interesting museums, professional sports, riverboats and a variety of nightspots add to the appeal of the Twin Cities. Dining is another Twin Cities highlight. There’s a vast assortment of restaurants, with an especially interesting array of ethnic restaurants.
South Metro Area -- In recent years, the southern suburbs of the Twin Cities have become destinations at least as popular as the cities they grew up around. The celebrated Mall of America, the Minnesota Zoo and Valleyfair Family Amusement Park lead the long list of reasons to visit the area.
West Metro Area -- The west metro region owes much of its appeal to Lake Minnetonka, the largest and perhaps the best fishing lake in the Twin Cities area. Any summer weekend will find the many bays of the 14,000-acre lake filled with boats searching for walleye, northern, panfish and some of the best largemouth bass fishing to be found in the state.
East Metro/St. Croix Valley Area -- On the eastern edge of the Twin Cities area, the St. Croix
Valley is just too gorgeous to be called metropolitan, despite being a half-hour or less from downtown St. Paul. The river itself is stunning, with jagged, pine-studded rocks near Taylors Falls and slow, broad waters further
south, before it joins with the Mississippi River at the southern end.
Minneapolis/St. Paul Area -- The vibrant Minneapolis-St. Paul area is the entertainment and cultural center of the upper Midwest. The scenery of this attractive metropolis includes contemporary skylines, historic architecture and greenways of parks, lakes and the Mississippi and Minnesota rivers.
North Metro Area -- The northern end of the Twin Cities metro area offers a
wealth of exceptional golf courses, fine restaurants, shopping and more.
